This capital improvement initiative involves comprehensive renovations across all district schools to ensure compliance with current building codes and enhance educational environments. Key upgrades include expanded classrooms, enlarged parking facilities, new stadium fields and buildings, advanced lighting systems, updated technology infrastructure, enhanced safety measures, including surveillance cameras, roof replacements, and structural additions.
Welliver has been appointed as the Construction Management (CM) Agent for the 2030 Project, responsible for overseeing all construction activities. The school district engaged Welliver to manage the day-to-day operations, documentation, scheduling, and coordination of construction phases, meetings, deliveries, and utility shutdowns.
A notable component of the project is the 15,871 sq. ft. addition to Gardner Road School, originally built in 1962. Renovations focus on creating modern spaces for speech therapy, physical therapy, and specialized education services.
Improvements include:
- New ceilings and LED lighting throughout the building
- Installation of a fire alarm and sprinkler system
- Upgraded gymnasium with new bleachers and a partition wall
- Complete kitchen renovation featuring new equipment, walk-in coolers/freezers, terrazzo flooring, and dual serving lines
- Enhanced cafeteria with a theatrical system, curtains, terrazzo flooring, new ceilings, and a storefront with a canopy
- A new chiller system providing full air conditioning for the facility
All new construction and renovations feature a brick façade, with select storefront elements incorporated into the cafeteria design.
