In collaboration with the Alcohol & Drug Council of Tompkins County and HOLT Architects, Welliver provided general contractor services for the construction of a new state-of-the-art treatment center offering an open access 40-bed medically supervised withdrawal (detox) and stabilization program. Filling a critical gap in addiction treatment in the area, the facility provides 24/7 access to care for people struggling with addiction and substance abuse in the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes regions.
Housing up to 40 patients, the Center offers counseling, medication-assisted treatment, and other rehabilitative services to help people transition out of drug addiction. Construction of the 20,000 square foot facility involved a complete gut of the interior of the existing building which was previously used as an office building. The new facility provides a much larger footprint of office space for the staff, counseling and meeting rooms, a commercial kitchen and café area, gym, and laundry service. The second floor is dedicated to patient rooms for in-house care, the largest in the area.
