Welliver provided Construction Management services for a new County Public Safety Center. The facility is a specialized project serving the various emergency response organizations, local industry, and municipal government in the County/Region including fire, medical, law enforcement, and planning commission.
The County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), the County Sherriff’s Department, and the County Planning Offices are the master tenants. Bradford County will migrate its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to this facility. In addition, the new public safety center incorporates various training components including classroom technology and public meeting rooms.
Of significance to Bradford County was the need to plan and design a state-of-the-art facility for the County’s EOC. The facility was designed to operate in the event of a natural or manmade emergency. As such, a hardened, resilient, secure, and technologically capable facility was envisioned.
The Center also provides space for the relocation of the County’s Sherriff’s Department and the County’s Planning Department.
“Bradford County’s new state-of-the-art Public Safety Center provides support for citizens and first responders through resource and incident response coordination, emergency communications, and training. It has been a long road to opening, but Welliver has been an essential part of this project from the very first day. With staff on site at all times, they have provided invaluable support and expertise to get our project to completion. We know that this new facility will allow us to host educational seminars and trainings, using the latest technology, and will be a tremendous asset to the County for many large events in the future.” – Michelle L Shedden, Chief Clerk, Bradford County Commissioners
