Originally involving the remodel of facilities district-wide, the project evolved to include more advanced systems for students, faculty, and staff. As a result of cost effective budgeting and subcontractor management, unused funds were available for the district to use for these additional renovations.
The project addressed a comprehensive list of Building Condition Survey (BCS) items. Highlights include renovations and additions to help realign grade levels within the district buildings; a new interactive STEM classroom in the high school, featuring modern technology and equipment for advanced learning; and a new track and turf field. A complete upgrade of IT technology was installed to enhance security, communication, and programmatic systems. In addition, the high school cafeteria was renovated to resemble a campus café-style eatery and food service area. Welliver phased construction around the school schedule to mitigate noise and air pollution while buildings were occupied.
